Black Beans

Well, my garden was pretty much a weed patch this summer. I did manage to have a few success though, and my black beans were one of them! The first bit of success was the fact that my seeds (beans!) were from my last years crop of beans.

Black beans are so easy! You just need to plant and wait for the harvest! Black beans are harvested when the plants are dying back and the pods are dry and brittle.

You then shell the beans, a nice activity while watching TV.

I spread the beans on some cookie sheets and let them completely dry. Then into clean air tight jars. Make sure to save some beans for next years seeds!

Peace and joy,

Nancy
